Tunisian Heart Foundation (THF) is a non-profit Non-Governmental Association created on Friday 12thJanuary 2007. THF was established to prevent Tunisian society of cardiovascular diseases by adopting healthy lifestyles.

What
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) take the lives of 17.7 million people every year, 31% of all global deaths. More than 75% of CVDs deaths occur in low-income and middle-income countries.It is also estimated that 54% of deaths from non-communicable diseases in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (Afghanistan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Occupied Palestinian territory, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, U.A.E.) are due to cardiovascular diseases. Deaths attributed to cardiovascular diseases range from 49% in Oman to 13% in Somalia.
Our vision
The Tunisian Heart Foundation’s vision is to advance the prevention of cardiovascular diseases to build healthy Tunisian community.
Our Mission
To promote cardiovascular health,Tunisian Heart Foundation’s roles are:
- The identification of cardiovascular disease risk factors such as: tobacco smoking, alcohol abuse, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, overweight and obesity, high blood pressure, high concentrations of dietary fat and blood lipids, and elevated blood glucose concentrations.
- The prevention of cardiovascular diseases by adopting healthy lifestyles. Here are five prevention tips to get you started:
